However You Holiday

For all our myriad differences, if there’s one thing humanity can agree on, it’s that we dislike the cold, and being cold in the dark is even worse. That’s why across the Northern Hemisphere, for thousands of years, people created ways to help greet this season with a smile, even when it was so often a time when need was most keenly felt, when the plenty of summer and fall were stretched thin.

We have traditions like Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the Lunar New Year, to name just a few, to encourage us to come together and feast, to light up the long nights with candle flames and twinkling lights. It’s a time for the smaller customs, too: the first hockey game on a freshly-frozen pond, the office’s ugly sweater contest, or cozying up together and putting on that one holiday classic the family just has to watch every year.

One Wish for All

No matter how you choose to celebrate the season, if there’s something else we can all agree on, it’s the hope that we and our loved ones will be safe and happy in the year to come. It’s in the giving of gifts, celebrating the life we get to share with those closest to us. It’s in the gathering together and looking forward to those first signs of spring, nature’s little reminder that yes, you made it!

A Little Cheer Goes a Long Way

Even the smallest gesture of kindness can kindle a little bit of that hope in others. A small donation to a gift drive of a toy a child has outgrown or a book you’ve finished reading could bring wonder to someone’s Christmas morning. A hot coffee for the hard worker you’ve always appreciated, but been too shy to say so, could keep them warm all Winter. Just putting your whole heart into baking, decorating, carolling, skating- whatever your passion is this holiday season, sharing it with others is a great place to start.

From Us to You

Lastly, we at Magenta give our heartfelt thanks to all our customers, employees, and partners who made this year one well worth celebrating. Tomorrow matters, yes, but much like a holiday party, tomorrow’s only as good as the people you get to share it with- and we’re more than merry to know we’re sharing that tomorrow with you.
